When glowing light, sweet & simple wardrobe selections, and an adoring mama all come together on a perfect spring evening … there’s no telling the beauty that will unfold.

Even when I’ve photographed a family enough times to hold up two hands, I continue to be endlessly inspired by the precious & unique delight that unfolds before my lens. The way Val’s eyelashes flutter over Darby in equal parts tenderness & protection … how one touch of the head communicates peace to a hangry toddler … even an accidentally blurry image tells the family story of a mother’s love in the hazy days of raising two under three.

I think mama & me sessions for families will be a mainstay in the coming years, and absolutely against the backdrop of a flowering spring.
